Dumaguete Christian Church was founded on September 17, 1935 that was brought together because of their yearning for the word of God, a group of young met regularly in a room at the back of Bazaar Oriental where the late Chuang Tek Huy lived. This is how the church begins from the seeds they planted. There were also financial constraints that made it hard for them to have a regular pastor but Rev. Simeon Emilia of United Church of Christ in the Philippines or known as UCCP graciously helped them by occasionally leading the services and meeting. The place was in Barangay Banilad.
That same year, the first evangelistic meeting was held in Dumaguete City with Pastor Tiu Tan Chong as the speaker. A second evangelistic meeting was led by Pastor Kho Cheng Thoan at the United Church of Christ in the Philippines. This culminated in the baptism of the first ten brothers. Dumaguete Christian Church was thus established.
The early services of Dumaguete Christian Chruch was held at the UCCP during Sunday afternoons. Miss Alice Fullerton was very helpful during this stage.
In the year 1970, which is marked as the great milestone in Dumaguete Christian Church's history by God's grace. They find at last a lot located in Dr. Vicente Locsin Street and a new church sanctuary was erected and it is property owned by the Church. This was dedicatedon the ocassion of the Church's 35th anniversaryon September 20, 1970. It was a joyous celebration of the fulfillment of a dream and re affirmation to share the message of salvation by grace through Jesus to everyone.
These are the milestones that it was recovered from the past few years who were the previous speakers on the Church Anniversaryand some important events.
1985- Rev. Robert Yu of Cebu Gospel Church as the speaker
1986- Rev. Albert Lam
1987- the wedding of my Uncle and my Aunt Pastor Jere Cang and Evelyn Ho - the speaker on that year was REv. Paul Huang
1988- Rev. Henry Ang
1989- Rev. Wesley Shao - my grandfather on my maternal side Ho Bing Suy was installed as elder on September 17 in this designated year.
1990- Rev. Ciriaco de Castro and there was a new pastor on this respective year and his name is Dennis Bentley Yam
1991- Rev. Stephen Kwan
1992- Pastor Dennis Yam was ordained into Reverend and Rev. Danny Reyes is the speaker
1993- Rev. David Cheung
1994- Rev. Joseph Shao - the wedding of my Uncle and my Aunt Emmanuel Ho and Nella Peralta on October 9 in this respective year
1995- Rev. Caleb Tong was the speaker from Indonesia
Their prayer items are based on the three day event from September 17 up to September 19 2010.
On September 17, 2010 this respective will be having an evanglistic meeting at Dumaguete Christian Church at 8 o'clockin the evening. Then on September 18, there will be a baptismal service at 9 o'clock in the morning then in the evening at 8 o'clock, there will be a concert "Revival Through Music" by Ruth C. Chang.

The reception will be held at Negros Oriental Convention Center in Capitol Area, Dumaguete City on September 19 at 6 o'clock in the evening which is the thanksgiving dinner and a fellowship night.
